Details on prizes will be below our plea for help.

As a 501c3 non profit rescue, we cannot survive without the generosity of others.

We see dogs who've been starved, beaten and used for bait. We are known for domesticating feral dogs, reactive Pit Bulls, little dogs with big attitudes, owner surrenders, victims of domestic abuse animals, and provide a spay/neuter funding for our community. We've extended our support to Bunnys, Horses, and a volunteer recently saved a abandoned box of kitties we need to help provide with excellent care as another rescue opened a foster home to care for them.

We're the last hope for the dogs we take in. We see the tough cases you don't typically see in rescue. This year we've pushed our selves physically and emotionally to help dogs that shook my soul. We have dogs who've come in horrific condition. Physical abuse, years of neglect, hit by cars left to die, owner surrenders heading to euthanize their dogs embedded with fleas, broken ribs, the list goes on. The cost of medical care is the highest we've ever experienced.

We've been helping dogs a few at a time from a clinic with hundreds of dogs in cages neglected beyond your wildest imaginations. Dogs sit in tiny cages, in their own waste, with no blankets, no exercise, and no human contact for months to years. There is no way to describe the smell, stained fur, and look of despair in their little eyes.

We've done a great job so far. Saving the lives of dogs with emergency surgeries and round the clock home or hospital care. For the very first time we're not only unable to help the community, we cannot afford the extensive surgeries, medications and therapy our dogs need. Please help us help them. Every dollar counts. Nothing is too small. We need you, they need you. Please consider donating to help these dogs.

There's too many dogs to list, but the pictures in our album are dogs needing your help for health care. As well as our lifetime care due to complicated heart conditions, seizures and behavior support. And some success stories for you feel confident your donations will be put to good use.

Let me tell you about a couple of our recent cases.

Bubba: Came to us after abandoned at a clinic in deplorable conditions after being shredded apart by dogs over and over again. A bait dog who shut down and became useless. He had a brief home when a rescue took him but was returned to the clinic when he was attacked by the families dog which nearly killed him.

He was again rescued and put in boarding until a qualified rescue could help him. Sadly, the cost of boarding and lack of quality indoor facilities Bubba lived outside in a cage with straw for bedding. A step up from metal. But the 114 degree weather was killing him.

We heard his story and had no excuse not to help him. He was going to die and has had no Bubbas neglect has left him with a shut down immune system. He's skin and bones, lethargic, his teeth are stained and worn down to nubs, his foot pads are raw, red, and shredded as the skin has been burned off from years of living in his own urine.

His eyes were sealed shut with infection. Unfortunately it's not a simple infection, he has a condition called Entropion. His eyelids turn inwards causing pain and infection that NEVER goes away. He must have surgery to correct this painful defect. He's lost his fur due to malnourished and has two separate intestinal infections.  He's so petrified of the world, his past must have been nothing but suffering.

Puggy Boy Frankie was taken to our Veterinary Clinic after being beat with a bat, embedded with fleas, and his owner said he bites kids and needs to be euthanize. Instead, they delivered him to SevaDog. He's an ANGEL. not a mean bone in his body. He's NOT a biter. His ribs healed after the beating too soon so they now poke out but they're not painful.

He does have an eye condition that requires more testing and possibly surgery. We can't let this guy go blind because his family failed to care for him properly. With your help we can ensure this guy never goes blind. That's an amazing gift!

When we took in two local pups thrown from an RV, one was left with a shattered hip. We were in a financial struggle at the time but still found a way to provide immediate medical attention and surgery. A news report covered the story. You can see it by click on Gingers picture below. Or click here.

You can learn about our SevaDog by going to our website: www.sevadog.org.

To enter:

Simply pick a square with a paw print, make your donation of $10 or more and upload your absolute most awesome photo of your dog or cat. It could funny, cute, sweet or flat-out beautiful. Memes are great too! A summery theme might help, but it's definitely not required. If you want to leave a message, who knows, it could help?

We apologize to all the other animals out there. They're wonderful and can be funny, cute, etc. too, but in this case it's only raining cats and dogs…

If you don't have a dog or a cat or just don't want to play, you can still help by making a donation. You can upload any photo you like or we can upload one for you.

How it works:

The Dog Days of Summer Challenge ends at midnight on August 11th.

Afterwards, we'll pick our favorite of all the dog and cat photos on this GivingGrid and send it on to GivingGrid.com. All the other participating animal organizations will do the same. The folks at GivingGrid will pick their 10 favorites and send them off to 1-800-Pet-Meds, who will then pick the grand prize winner, runner-up and third place. All 10 finalists will win stuff! We'll send you an email if you're our pick!

Here's the fun part. The animal organizations that submitted the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winning photos will win too! For us to qualify, we must have at least 25 squares taken and a minimum of $500 in total donations. Easy peasy right, but please help us make sure we get there! We want to win too!
