Baby is at the ER fighting for her life!

Urgent help needed for Gigi!

This is a plea we just received. We want to help them by raising half of what they need. Can you help too?

"We are reaching out to see if you would be able to help us with Gigi. We're desperate!

She was found as a stray, no chip, and no one came forward. She was happy and playful until she wasn't. She is currently in the ER fighting for her life with sepsis of unknown causes. She has septic fluid in her abdomen and around her kidneys. The ER doctors have never seen this before around the kidneys and need to call in a specialist. The estimate is more than $11,000, but it doesn't matter, because we have to save her life.

Please help us save Gigi."

Here’s the latest from South Florida Mutt Rescue with Gigi:

"Gigi was able to have her drain removed, did well on oral antibiotics and showed no fluid buildup in her abdomen or around her kidneys. She was able to be discharged and is recovering with her foster mom.

She will have two more follow up visits for ultrasounds so they can monitor and make sure she continues to free of the septic fluids. Then she’ll be able to get her staples out.

Thank you so much for supporting Gigi. We really cannot express our gratitude and appreciation enough for you and all the people who showed up for our sweet Gigi."

    With love and gratitude,

Here’s a note from South Florida Mutt Rescue when we told them we were helping with Gigi:

"Thank you so much for your incredible support and compassion for Gigi. We wanted to share an update with immense gratitude in our hearts.

Gigi underwent emergency surgery. The veterinary team discovered an abscess on her right kidney, located between the kidney and its protective membrane. This was the source of the septic fluid that had spread throughout her abdomen and around both kidneys.

Thankfully, no other abnormalities were found. The surgeons successfully removed the abscess and drained the infected fluid from her abdominal cavity and kidney area. Her vitals have remained strong, and the drain has produced only minimal fluid, an encouraging sign.

A follow-up scan confirmed that no additional fluid has accumulated, and her kidneys remain clear. If her stability continues, the drain will be removed soon, and she’ll be able to return to her loving foster home to continue healing.

We are deeply grateful to GivingGrid and your supporters for your help in making this possible. Gigi’s recovery is a testament to the power of community, compassion, and urgent care—and we couldn’t have done it without you.

    With heartfelt thanks,
    Melody

We know these are challenging times, and while we didn’t quite reach our goal to cover half of Gigi’s care, your support still made a meaningful difference. Every bit helped, and we’re truly grateful for your kindness and generosity. ❤️
