Help Cali-Chi get Knee Surgery

Meet Cali, a beautiful Chihuahua who was born with deformed back legs. She was left on the streets and then later left on a car hood by her rescuer.

Cali's X-Rays show that both of her knee caps are out of place as a result of torn ligaments in her legs. The procedure she will need is called a "Bilateral Extra Capsular" Repair. This will cost approx $4000

Campaign Details

Cali's story starts out, how many rescue pets do. She was found wandering the streets in Long Beach CA and was picked up by a good samaritan. Unfortunately, Cali's rescuer could not keep her and decided to take her to the local Spay/ neuter clinic to give her up. When the clinic said that they could not take Cali and that she needed to be taken to Animal Control, her rescuer became very angry and stormed out.

A few minutes later, one of the clinic staff walked outside and found Cali, left outside on top of a car hood. She was taken inside were later that day she was scheduled to be taken to Animal Control.

Thankfully, a FHPR volunteer walked in and was able to meet Cali. The second she heard her story, she could not imagine leaving her behind. But it wasn't only Cali's story that was compelling. Cali's legs were obviously deformed and she knew that she would not stand a chance at a shelter.

Cali's first vet visit/ X-rays revealed that she had torn ligaments in both legs which left her knee caps displaced. Cali's condition is called "Extra Capsular Bilateral" tare. Her surgery will cost the rescue approx. $4000 dollars (pre op, surgery, post op). Your donations will help in the following ways:

  1. Help Cali get all the blood work/ Pre-Operation test done
  2. Get her procedure completed
  3. Post operation follow up appointments
  4. Medications

Thank you from everyone (including Cali) for your Donations and Shares,

Update 4-18-16:

This week, Cali got to visit some of her old friends at the vets office that she was rescued from. She had a blast seeing old faces again. She also got follow up X-Rays that show the state that her knees are in. We can even imagine the pain that she is in, but yet she does not show it. She is so strong and such an amazing little girl. Please donate! And if you cant donate, please share as many times as you can!
