Campaign Details

This 4-5 year old female has been named Sydney by the shelter that she arrived at.

Sydney's story is unknown - what we do know is that both rear legs are broken in multiple places as well as pelvic fracture.

Orthopedic surgery is immediately needed and these xrays show the extent of the damage.

This little girl is so sweet she is scooting for kisses despite the pain she must be in!

Be part of the team and help donate, share and bring awareness that hounds wander in Spring and whether she was hit by a car, fell off something high, or worse - make sure your fencing, gates, screens and doors are hound proof!

Sydney is out successful surgery and is on her way home to Daphneyland.

Fractures are old - he would say about 2 months old.

(Just to clue you in - bones reattach quickly so corrective surgery should be done ASAP - to let this girl go with a free floating femur for 2 months is BEYOND COMPREHENSION. 2 months of beyond belief pain. On the other side of that coin - look what CAN happen even when injuries are that old

Here are the basics: Left tibia relatively well aligned, he rocked it, countered it - could not get it to move.  IHO the bone reset is "good enough". Calling for my  voodoo to offset arthritis later on.  Knows we can rehab her to have a useful limb.

Right side - (free floating femur) This was the nightmare.  He had to completely break it down, cut, reset, he was sweating it there "Not gonna lie to ya Dawn"

He acheived realignment, pin & plate - looks great post op photos.  Again he is invoking VDQ rehab.  Sutures out & check 2 weeks, recheck xray in 6 at which point he thinks she'll be doing a marathon.

Pelvic fracture - had reset.  Felt it was of minimal importance to rebreak as it's healed and not of great importance.  No plate needed.

We got super lucky folks.  No idea what the cost is, they are holding her overnight (thank goodness, she's a pistol).

Pick up will be Sunday between 12:30 - 5:00 pm.  Trying to figure that out now.

She will start 6 weeks of rehab with Team Daphneyland and then have another set of xrays to make sure everything is healing properly.

Thank you all of your support ... we have a long road to recover but have taken the first steps.
