When we received this plea for this poor baby, even though we see a lot of ugliness, this just made our stomachs sink and our eyes well up... This poor baby... WHO DOES THIS and WHY???

Peanut was found in Zebulon, NC, where people dump trash. They left her there to die! They starved her and threw her away to just die!

Peanut, which the vet techs named her, is approximately 3 yrs old and weighs 20 lbs. She should be 60/70 lbs. She is skin and bones... I SWEAR to GOD it brings us to tears and we'll never understand why this happens... This didn’t happen overnight, this baby suffered for a long time to get in this shape. And the thing that kills us is that this poor baby can’t even walk, lift her head or eat, BUT as soon as someone comes near her, with what little strength she has, she wags her tail...

We rushed her to the ER where she is very weak and lethargic... she’s not eating so they have her on fluids, plus she has pyometra. She is just so weak, pale, can’t stand or walk... We are worried about her organs shutting down. We have to stabilize her and get her to eat. This is a BATTLE but a BATTLE we plan to fight, as long as she wants to fight.

We need your help. PLEASE!!! She will need to be rushed to a 24 hour ER to be monitored. She will need fluids, slow feedings and constant medical care and that’s if nothing goes wrong...

PLEASE help us show Peanut the whole world is not horrible and that there are good people that want her to put the torture behind her and want to help give her, her happily every after.

We CANNOT do it without your help. The rescue world is in crisis right now and we are drowning in bills. PLEASE help.

This super special girl has really amazed us all! Peanut has gained 5lbs since leaving the hospital! It’s still a slow and steady approach to her eating just to be safe.

She is totally in love with her foster family and the feeling is very mutual. Her foster mom said she wouldn’t leave her side at the vet today and that there is just something very special about her.

Peanut’s new bloodwork showed a liver value that is off and her red blood count has not gone up as much as we hoped, so the doctor put her on an antibiotic and we will do further diagnostics and rechecks to make sure we are not missing anything.

In the meantime, Peanut has gained enough energy to start chasing chickens, lol.

Thank you again for caring and helping. We love you!

Peanut is absolutely loving being in a foster home and getting spoiled. Her foster mom said she is starting to show her personality and she is a tough little cookie :-) Peanut is still extremely weak and tires easily; it will take her a while to build back her energy and reserves. She has a good 40lbs that she needs to gain but slow and steady is what will be best for her ! Peanuts other health concerns/ Heartworm treatment will be addressed once she is stronger

We thank you again for all your support for sweet little Peanut and we are so happy she gets a second chance after being so close to death

Peanut is a little miracle!!! She was so close to death and was unable to even stand due to starvation when she was found in the garbage. She was rushed to the specialty ER hospital as soon as SNARR was asked to help. Peanut was anemic and very dehydrated. Her belly was distended to the point where doctors were worried her intestines would twist. She was bleeding and there was concern of a dangerous infection to her uterus, but thankfully that wasn’t the case.

Feeding a starving dog can be very dangerous so the hospital started with feeding Peanut just a tablespoon of food every few hours, as to not put her frail system in danger. Peanut has been recovering at the ER getting fluids, warmth, proper nurturing and nutrition. She was riddled with parasites and has been treated for those as well.

Peanut got the all clear to leave the hospital and continue her journey of healing slowly in foster care. Peanut is Heartworm positive and will require treatment, but her body is not nearly strong enough for that anytime soon. For now we are just going to focus on some major TLC, and teaching Peanut that she is the farthest thing from garbage! We are so incredibly grateful for the army of supporters who stepped up to save Peanut. It’s people like you, that allow SNARR to say “yes” to helping in the worst of emergency situations!
