Help! Yuri's Eyes Are Bleeding

Urgent help needed for Yuri!

Our talkative, friendly Yuri at Wild Blue's Sanctuary started bleeding profusely from the right eye this morning (May 3rd). We rushed him to the vet, where his left eye and nose started bleeding, too. The vets aren't sure where he's bleeding from or why, and referred him to an emergency pet hospital for a CT Scan, in case it's a tumor.

Emergency services are incredibly expensive, even just to check in-- please help us get Yuri the care he needs.

Great news, everyone! Yuri is expected to make a full recovery. The past few days have seen him steadily recovering- there's no more blood and as you can see only one eye is inflamed. It looks like it was a really nasty case of congestion, after all. Yikes! Thanks to all of you, his veterinary bills and medication costs were completely covered. Thank you so, so much for your quick response and your generosity! He'll be back at the Sanctuary and available for adoption soon.

    Hello, everyone!

Here's an update on Yuri! The doctor yesterday morning believes that a tumor is very unlikely given Yuri's age and otherwise good health. She thinks it's more likely to be a infection of some sort and wants to see if the inflammation clears up over the next few days with steroid drops. If he doesn't improve, or get worse, we will proceed with blood work and a CT scan. Best case scenario, it's just a really bad infection and some medication and TLC will put him back on his feet.

Thank you so much for caring about this wonderful kitty. We'll keep you posted!

Hello everyone, and thank you! Your generous response has us speechless-- we've raised over a thousand dollars in less than 24 hours. Yuri is doing alright; the bleeding stopped and he ate well today... He's resting with a doting foster mom until his CT scan in the morning. We'll let you know the results once we have them.

Sleep well knowing you've helped a kitty in need today. Sweet dreams, and thank you!
