Maisy Needs an Emergency C-Section!

Urgent help needed for Maisy!

Maisy's story is heartbreaking. This sweet mama gave birth to a single tiny puppy on the cold, wet, hard shelter floor and then, nothing but blood. She was rushed to the vet, where it was discovered she is severely anemic and in desperate need of an emergency C-section and blood transfusion.

Right now, Maisy, her one precious newborn, and her unborn puppies are all fighting for their lives. The truth is, we don't know who we will be able to save. Time is running out and their futures hang in the balance. We will not give up on them. Not Maisy, not her fragile little one, not the lives still waiting to take their first breath.

    Update on Maisy 💔🐾

Yesterday, we shared Maisy’s devastating story—a mama who gave birth to one tiny puppy on the cold, wet shelter floor, and then nearly lost her life to having babies stuck inside of her and she was slowly dying from anemia.

By nothing short of a miracle, that fragile newborn survived. He is now safe in a foster home, being bottle-fed around the clock, and so far, he continues to fight and thrive. That little one is the only surviving baby, and we are clinging to hope that his fight will continue.

Maisy herself was rushed into emergency surgery. We were terrified to put her under anesthesia because her red blood count was so dangerously low—but it was her only chance. She survived surgery and a lifesaving blood transfusion, but heartbreakingly, none of her other puppies made it. 💔

As if that wasn’t enough, Maisy has also tested positive for heartworm, ehrlichia, and anaplasma—tick-borne diseases that caused the severe anemia that almost killed her. Despite the transfusion, her blood levels are not recovering. The vet just confirmed Maisy now needs a second transfusion if she has any chance of pulling through.

We are desperate to save her. Maisy is exhausted and broken, yet she is still fighting—for herself and for the one baby who made it.

We are so grateful for the outpouring of love and donations that have come in so far. But this battle is not over—we still have a long way to go to cover her ongoing care, transfusions, and treatment.

Please, if you can, donate and share Maisy’s story. Her life—and her baby’s future—depend on it.

❤️🙏 Thank you for standing with us for Maisy.
