In Honor of Betty White's Birthday

Did you know that we ARE NOT the shelter?  HSSC is an all-volunteer group with no physical location. All animals are fostered in our personal foster homes and are provided with love and socialization to make for the best adoptable pets.  HSSC helps the most vulnerable animals in Shenandoah County.  Most of our fosters come from outdoor situations where they are either dropped off or a Momma cat has been left to fend for her babies in the elements.  Concerned citizens contact us and, if they are tamable we take Momma and her babies into foster and get them vetted and offer them for adoption.  Our continued work depends on donations.  Thank You

Without donations from our wonderful supporters we wouldn't be able to continue to offer the help that we do.

We offer a spay & neuter transport twice a month to transport animals to the clinic to be spayed or neutered to help control the pet population.

We offer a Fix-A-Pit assistance that helps with spay or neuter of pit bulls and pit bull mixes for a low $50 fee.

Our Homeward Bound Foster and Adoption program provides foster and adoption to animals that would be fending for themselves in the outdoors.

If you'd like to become a foster, please visit our website and complete the foster application.  All supplies and vetting are provided, all you provide is a loving environment for an animal while they await adoption.
