Campaign Details
SBA was founded in 1973 by a group of concerned parents who wanted to better the lives of their children who had been born with Spina Bifida. Since that time, the Association has grown into the only national voluntary health agency dedicated solely to enhancing the lives of all those affected and preventing the birth defect in future generations.
SBA accomplishes its mission through education, advocacy, research, and support efforts. Some recent programmatic highlights include:
- Serving more than 10,000 individuals and families in need through our National Resource Center
- Hosting more than 700 attendees at our 41st National Conference in Bloomington, MN
- Launching our Adults with Spina Bifida survey, which has received 1,000 responses thus far
- Advocating for the recent FDA decision to allow folic acid fortification of corn masa flour, a staple of the Hispanic diet
This #GivingTuesday, we hope to raise $10,000 for the Spina Bifida community. You can help by making the most generous contribution you can on November 29. For every $25 you give, you'll be entered into our contest to win a $300 Visa gift card & basket full of SBA merchandise, which will include t-shirts, pins, magnets, luggage tags, and other goodies!
We could not do the work that we do without our caring and compassionate donors. Thank you for your continued generosity this #GivingTuesday!
