Starved & critical puppy! 💔

Urgent help needed for Neo!

We have an emergency!

This baby was found on the side of a road in Florida by Good Samaritans, weak and starving. He needed emergency care immediately! He looks like he's been tortured and starved. He can hardly stand. We can't imagine his suffering. How does this keep happening? 💔

We don't have the funds for this, but he is in critical condition and we couldn't turn our backs. He's safe at the ER, but critical and this will be outrageously expensive. Somehow, we'll figure it out, we have to, but could really use your help.

What little we know at this point is that he's only about 7 months old (a puppy) and he's starved and severely anemic.

Neo is doing great! His fur is filling in. He is still battling demodectic manage, however, it’s a slow process to kill off the skin parasite. His anemia is gone. Neo has the cutest personality. He is a friend to all and loves to engage other dogs in play. He will be neutered in July. We are actively seeking a forever home for him.

This happens in part because of you!

Neo is now in his foster home. He was released today. He goes back on Friday to recheck his levels to make sure his anemia is still reducing. We will retest his fecal once he’s done with the second round of dewormer. He had bad hookworms. He’s not healthy enough for vaccinations. This will eventually be done, along with neutering, once he’s made a full recovery. It’s going to take time. He will look rough for a while. The big welts all over his body will heal overtime with the help of the antibiotics.

He is grateful for the comfort he is now receiving. This little soul will melt your heart. We are feeding him five small meals a day, per the guidelines of the veterinarian. He’s on a high quality puppy food diet. He has quite a bit of weight to gain. The demadectic mange will die over time via monthly medication.

Overall, he’s improving and is so lucky he was in the right place at the right time. It was in the middle of nowhere, at night. Thank God for kind hearted souls. ????????????

Here’s what we know today about our sweetheart, Neo.

He had a blood transfusion yesterday. Thankfully he’s a bit stronger now that he’s been fed and given fluids. The clinic said it’s one of the worst cases of mange they have ever seen. Poor thing also has advanced hookworms.

The clinic allowed us to visit him in one of their rooms. The finders of this puppy have stepped up to do temp fostering once he’s healthier and ready to go home. They were also there visiting. One is an officer for the Sheriff’s department. We are so grateful to this couple, the amazing staff at the clinic, and all of you for your generosity and caring. This little guy is very lucky.

First, we want to thank you and every other wonderful and caring person that quickly helped us reach or goal for our puppy, who now has a name: Neo! ??

Neo is stable, aside from his anemia. He's a real trooper and fighter! They are having to do a blood transfusion today. He also had advanced hookworms which has mostly caused this along with the demodectic mange he has... We're still waiting for more results and photos to share, but in the meantime, we're told he is being incredibly sweet to staff.

Thank you again and we hope to share more very soon.

    Love,
    The Pittie Party
