In mid-October 2015, Poly was left alone on a park bench in Santa Barbara County - she was blind and too afraid to get off the bench. The Animal Control Officer that picked her up that day snapped a photo of how scared and sad she was on that bench. Foreverhome Pet Rescue, Inc. in Los Angeles saw the photo and stepped up to help her. Since her rescue it has been discovered that Poly has a severe heart condition that will drastically shorten her life. FHPR created a Facebook page for Poly to document her rehabilitation and recovery, as well as to raise funds for heart surgery. Poly's story (with the tearful sad bench photo) ended up going viral and Poly became "phamus" :)
Poly has decided that she wants to "Paw It Forward" and help other doggies like her that need medical care after being neglected and abused - and she knows that her friends and supporters want to help them too... so we created Poly's Fund [a program of Foreverhome Pet Rescue, Inc.] to do just that. All donations are tax deductible.
