Jane Needs You!
Big Fluffy Dog Rescue
UPDATE: The damaged tissue has been debrided and we are pink underneath which is good. The bad news is that she is missing a 12" wide strip all the way down to the muscles across both shoulders. This is going to require a lot of skin grafting. And a huge bill. We just increased our goal to cover the costs of the grafting and recovery. Please say an additional prayer for Jane.
All things come in threes, and this is number three. We have a horrific situation here and we need your help to try to save a dog. Jane was hit by a car and drug down the highway. She has a laceration that is 6" wide down to the muscle and it wraps around to the other side of her body. The black you see is from the road and the tire. The leg wrapped in pink is being amputated as I type and I cannot post the picture of what it looked like underneath that without making people faint.
Jane is a lab Great Pyrenees puppy and she has been like this for at least a few days. The shelter got her yesterday and released her to us this morning to try to save her. She has been in an intense amount of pain, so the goals are 1) relieve and control her pain, 2) amputate the leg which is utterly destroyed under that wrap, 3) debride the wound and control infection, 4) prevent septic shock and 5) eventually grow new skin. This is the tamest picture I have and direct shots are simply not postable as they are graphic in the extreme. This is a tough case and if we fail at any of these elements, we will have to let her go. When we cease doing good, it's time to stop. Right now, we are hopeful we can provide her with a life if we can get her through the crisis. She is a sweet puppy and deserves a chance.
If you would like to donate to help us save her, we would be so grateful.
Say prayers, folks. This one is in the hands of the surgeons and powers beyond human.
Thank you for your support!
About the organization
Big Fluffy Dog Rescue
Happy Saturday everyone!
Look at this beautiful baby you all helped save. Jane has a long road to recovery and will be living at the vets office for the foreseeable future, but she wouldn't be here today to pose for such beautiful photo's without your help.
Thank you so much for your continued support and prayer for Miss Jane.
First and foremost, we want to thank you for your generosity and support. We have a wonderful Wednesday morning update on Jane for you.
Jane's amputation surgery and skin graft surgery went really well yesterday. This morning she woke up and wanted pets and a yummy snack.
Can you believe she is already standing? This girl has such a will to live, it's incredible. We are so thankful for our amazing vets that have performed yet another miracle.
Jane has a really long road to recovery, we are taking it one day at a time, but we have really high hopes for this sweetie pie.
If Jane could talk, she would tell you how appreciative she is for your support and prayers.
We are 1/2 way to meeting our goal for Jane's vet bill, Jane would be ever so grateful if you could share with your friends, family and social media.
Lots of love,
Jane & Big Fluffy
