Campaign Details

February is a time for love and what better way to show love than helping homeless cats and dogs.

Each year, Helping Paws Animal Shelter helps hundreds of animals, like Camilla, who come through our doors, many who have been abandoned, neglected and/or unloved. As we celebrate our 50th anniversary this year, we hope that you will join us and "have a heart" for all the paws that are in need.

Camilla arrived at Helping Paws on October 16, 2018 and is still waiting for her second chance and forever home. She is a beautiful, smooth coat Collie mix who is 1 year and 8 months old. Camilla is quite energetic and has that "teenage spirit" going on, so she's looking for an experienced dog person who has time and patience to help her become her best self! She's not a "cat lover" and might even prefer to be the princess of the house, but she will be loyal to her family and make a rewarding companion. Loves to go on walks, running and playing outside so an active family would be perfect match! Please help Camilla and all the other animals who are waiting patiently for forever love!

Our mission is to provide shelter, food, medical care, and comfort to abandoned, neglected, and abused animals until they are placed into loving, responsible homes. Each animal that comes into our shelter is treated with respect, kindness and compassion. We believe that for each of our animals…"Second Chances Start Here."

Each donation goes directly toward helping the animals at Helping Paws Animal Shelter 100%! Your support allows us to care for the animals that come through our doors every day, like some of our animals shown here. No amount is too small and every donation is greatly appreciated.

Helping Paws is a no-kill animal shelter and non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Since 1969, our small, committed staff and over 300 dedicated volunteers care for more than 800 animals annually and serve more than 300,000 residents in McHenry County and surrounding communities.
