Braveheart Needs Your Help

DONATIONS STILL NEEDED

He will be in the hospital at least a week and then on to rehab.  He served people his whole life and now needs YOUR help. He needs an operation on his leg to relieve his constant pain. Doctors feel positive that the surgery will relieve his pain successfully.

He survived life as an Amish cart horse and came to us from a kill pen broken and bruised. He is one of the kindest horses we have come across.  Please help him!

Wow!  We are already 25% of the way there!  We are scheduling surgery for Braveheart in the hopes we will continue to receive donations.  Braveheart will be in the hospital for at least a week and come home with a cast.  He'll require re-hab and we will be there every step of the way.  The surgeon has had great success with this operation and he should be out of pain and be able to run free again soon.

Braveheart is a special horse. He is one of the most loving and kind horses we've come across. He loves people and likes to rest his head on your shoulder as a sort of hug.  He always makes us laugh when he opens gates and fences.  We caught him in the act below! We know that we have asked you for your help several times. Unfortunately this is the nature of the rescue business.  We don't have funding and when something like this comes up we need to ask you, our caring partners, for help. We do promise that 100% of your donation goes directly to the subject of the fundraiser.  We hope you understand and give when and what you can so we can continue to help these magnificent creatures.

We are close to the goal we set of $5,000.00, however we didn't realize he will be in the hospital for at least a week.  We thought 2-3 days.  We also hadn't put an estimate in on rehab, so we really need at least $6-7K!  In fact, this operation is normally over $15,000.00, but because we are a rescue, the hospital and surgeon are giving us a 50% discount!  So while $6-7K seems high, it's really not.

Some would argue that we should put the horse down.  These people have not met Braveheart!  He has given his all for man and man let him down.  We will not!

He was used, abused and thrown away. As an Amish cart horse, we was overused and when his lameness got in the way, he was sold for slaughter. He was one of the "Last Four" that we saved from Moore's in February.  He's been lame in all 4 legs off and on and this operation could save him.  Please help with a donation of any amount.  He's counting on you.
