💔You can feel his suffering

Urgent help needed for Cannoli!

Yesterday, after leaving the beach with the dogs we had just trapped, my worker suddenly asked, "Did you see the pink dog on the side of the road?"

What we found will haunt me forever.

The "pink" dog, his skin was raw and inflamed from sarcoptic mange so severe that he had no hair left. His tiny body was baking under the scorching sun, and mosquitoes were eating him alive.

As I fed him, a man came out of his house yelling "Get that dog out of here! He's spreading mange to my dogs!" Then he kicked Cannoli from his driveway and threatened to poison him.

I knew then if I didn't act immediately, he wouldn't survive the day. He needs your help!

Starving, desperate and suffering so much, he walked right into the trap. He cried and cried, but once we reached the vet, something changed and he calmed down and began to trust. Beneath all that pain, he was gentle and sweet.

Cannoli has been diagnosed with sarcoptic mange, seborrhea, heavy parasite infestation, and heartworm disease. He will need to stay at the clinic for at least two weeks for medicated baths and treatment.

We are completely full at the refuge, but we could not turn our backs on this sweetheart. Once he is stable, a partner organization on the island will take him in. Thank God!

This week has been overwhelming, dog after dog, battling for their lives against pneumonia, parasites, and starvation. And now Cannoli.

Please help us care for this baby boy, Cannoli.

I visited Cannoli, but I had to wait for the storm to subside. it is pretty nasty outside today.

He received 3 medicated baths so far and I can see the improvement on his skin already. The pile of seborrhea on top of his back is almost gone.

He is eating fine. The staff at the clinic said he is such a good boy and very quiet. It will take time for his fur to come back but the most important part is that he has been taken off the streets to get help.

Thank you to everyone that helped my Cannoli.

    Love,
    Chella
