She's in Pain and the Cancer is Worse

Urgent help needed for Tabitha!

This sweet girl is in crisis, rushed to the clinic, in pain, dehydrated, lethargic, and bleeding profusely from a cancerous tumor in her vagina.

Since her rescue from the streets of Houston's Corridor of Cruelty, she has endured 8 painful rounds of chemotherapy. Tabitha is still such a sweetheart, even though her tumor has grown much larger, causing additional pain.

Now veterinarians at Texas A&M have recommended several more weeks of a much stronger dosage of chemo, plus additional medications and possible radiation.

We know this girl will be a wonderful family member and we are prepared to do what is needed to save her. Will you join us?

Campaign Details

Tabitha was living on the streets in Houston's Corridor of Cruelty when she was rescued.  She was hungry, suffering from heartworms.  Testing revealed that she has a transmissible venereal tumor (TVT).  We really hoped that the first course of treatment: 8 rounds of chemotherapy would cure her cancer.

But that was not to be.  She was seen by Texas A&M Vet Hospital (one of the premier small animal hospitals in the country) on December 5. They absolutely loved her and join us in pulling for her recovery.  But her tumor grew much larger and today she was in crisis, with dangerously low red blood cells; at risk of needing a transfusion. The immediate crisis must be solved so that she can start on the more aggressive chemo treatments and possible radiation therapy.  We know she will make a terrific pet because she endures all her suffering and remains a sweet girl.

Please join us in saving her life.

Tabitha was released from the hospital and is doing much better!  She's back at our kennel recuperating and building up her strength so she can withstand several more rounds of stronger chemotherapy.  She may also then need radiation treatments, but for now we are so thankful that she is doing better. We are extremely grateful that you went out of your way to show how much you care. We have reached 57% of the goal now, thanks to you!
