Hit by a car and "owner" wanted it shot!

Urgent help needed for Milo!

We were just asked to help this dog. He was hit by a car last night…

The poster asked for someone to come over and shoot him because the "owner" thinks he's dying. Really?

Instead, we heard about it through one of our great volunteers Amy, and she is now on the way to pick him up and bring him to the emergency clinic for care.

I keep telling my team we are no longer pulling because our expenses far exceed our fundraising but there's no way we would let this animal suffer.

Please help us care for him if you can. There is no amount too small. Every penny helps towards saving lives like his.

About the Organization

Looking Glass Animal Rescue is a nonprofit volunteer-based animal welfare organization dedicated to rescuing dogs from high-kill shelters, hoarding situations, puppy mills, animal fighting rings and more. While we welcome all animals in need, we specifically focus on animals that are often overlooked due to age, breed, special need, illness or injury and frequently requiring immediate, often costly medical attention that shelters are unable to provide.

Despite our hopes and prayers, they could not save Milo's leg. He had his amputation surgery and is in recovery. He is doing well...

Milo’s surgery went extremely well. The doctor was very happy with how everything came together and feels that given the fact he is now trying to stand on his own, which he can’t yet, is a great sign. So just a few hours ago they did get him up with assistance to see if he would try to walk on that leg and he did. So they were super pleased with that outcome. He is going to have to go through physical therapy which is why he’s remaining hospitalized for the time being both for his hip but also for his shoulder and his left leg.

They’re also very happy with the fact that he’s eating on his own and he seems to be in good spirits, so the pain meds are working beautifully. They even think that they got some movement from his toes on his left front leg that has the radial nerve injury. So we’re extremely hopeful that as the days progress will see some more movement and we won’t have to amputate, but they told us not to get too excited, because it’s still very very early days.

Overall, we think he’s making great progress. And they say he’s as sweet as can be!

Thank you again for helping this precious boy. He’s got a long way to go, but with your help, our commitment and a great medical team, we’ve got his back!!

He has a name; Milo and weve got him! Hes now at the vet.

He has a fractured shoulder, fractured pelvis that will need surgery to insert a plate and screws, his other front leg has no feeling so it will likely need to be amputated. Dr wants to give it a couple days to see if he gets any sensation, but he is not confident given his experience. They pulled over 20 ticks off him and fleas galore. Sad

Through it all he has wagged his tail a few times. Take a look!

He is on major pain meds and theyre making him feel a bit more comfortable and he has begun eating on his own. He is also up on his chest for the first time as opposed to the recumbent position he has been in, which is another great sign.

We are also looking to get him a cart to help him walk once he is able to put pressure on his hip (after physical therapy), since his shoulder is fractured and it will need some support.

Hell be going into surgery shortly and well keep you posted.

Thank you so much for helping us get him out, to the vet and now get the critical care he needs to get better! He still has a long road ahead. This doesnt happen without you!

    Love,
