About three months ago, we rescued a abandoned female, part Saint Bernard dog. She weight 54lbs and every bone was showing. She was so weak it was hard for her to get up, stand or even walk. There had been a wonderful lady that had contacted us, asking for our help and if we would rescue this poor girl. To top it off she had given birth to another litter of puppies about three months prior. We know this because two were still alive and trying to nurse on her.
It was our pleasure to agree to take in this poor little girl, which we named Holly. St Clouds Rescue has saved over 2,000 saint Bernard's since 2003. Thru all these years we have never seen a dogs so emaciated. Our first three weeks with her were filled with a lot of tears on if we would find her dead or alive. She was taken to the vet ASAP and had full blood work done and a complete check up. She was diagnosed with extreme diabetes, heart worm positive, cataracts, potential liver failure and hookworms.
She didn't have much going for her along with her needing to be spayed to regulate her diabetes. Her cataracts also make her 80% blind.
Against our vets recommendation we choose to do everything possible to save Holly. We were determined not to let this dog die not knowing what love was and not having to starve for water or food.
With the help of a lot of vets and trips back and forth for different medical visits, Holly has finally turned the corner and has enjoyed having the most amount of food we have ever give to a dog daily.
As friend's to St Clouds Rescue we are asking for your support to be part of Holly's life. We are in desperate need of donations as we have spend over $3,000 for her care. Holly will need insulin twice daily for the rest of her life. Which is very expensive with ongoing care.
Please participate in our giving grid to help with Holly's care! If you cannot donated please share and keep us in your prays for her ongoing care while being a Holly hero.
