~ Otoño~
Yesterday, we rescued Otoño, the scared little girl that lived in the pond terrified of people after her own family abandoned her at the beach to die with her unborn puppies back in March of this year. We couldn’t even feed her close to us because she would run terrified.
Last week, we went for all the homeless we were feeding at the beach to shelter them during the storm that flooded a big part of Nassau and the beach as well. She was not there...only yesterday, we finally saw her outside again and so we didn’t lose any time and set up the trap.
The entire night she choked with a bad cough, without even a moment of peace. This morning, I rushed her to the clinic. Her gums were almost blue from oxygen deprivation, running a high fever and the vet said her lungs were totally inflamed. She also tested a high positive for Heartworm.
The vet immediately put her on antibiotics but they cannot give her any fluids right now because of her lungs being so inflamed.
I am so thankful that we managed to catch her yesterday to help her, as the vet said her living conditions being submerged in water could have caused her demise.
We don’t know how long she will need to stay hospitalized so we are asking for your help. Please.
Any amount makes a difference, as our funds are so very low these days.
Thank you❣️
