Help Us Pay Marty's Vet Bills

Urgent help needed for Marty!

Marty was found in a yard in Waverly, Iowa. He was on his side on an extremely hot day, not moving, & covered with house flies. A volunteer rushed him to the vet, he needed immediate help. He had maggots attached to his anus & was very lethargic. Marty is now in a foster home and is doing better. We are begging for help to pay his vet bills. Without the help from the vet, Marty would not have lived much longer in the condition he was found in.

Marty went unclaimed so he is a Waverly Pet Rescue kitty now. At first it seemed he had trauma to his back end, but once the maggots were removed his tail is now healing. Our vet did X-rays on him and everything is ok. Our vet also did a complete blood panel on him and everything checked out ok.  Our vet also triple tested him and he came back negative for FeLV and heart-worms.

Marty did test positive for FIV.  So he is set up in a room alone in his foster home. He was terrified at the vet office. He would hiss and lash out at anyone that came near him. Credit goes to this vet for helping him even though he was trying to attack, bite, and scratch them. So far in his foster home he is very scared but has not tried to attack anyone. He has even let his foster mom and dad pick him up and also pet him. Only time will tell if he is a friendly cat, but just scared. Or if he is a friendly cat but will always be skittish. Or if he is a feral cat and not adoptable. If he is not adoptable, we will get him into a FIV cat sanctuary. We will do all we can to make sure Marty has a good life. It will take time to figure out his true personality.

Best news is that he is alive and doing so much better.

Please please help us pay this unexpected vet bill. Total bill due now is $438.28. Add on another $50 because we will need to retest in a month or so the FIV to verify he is positive. Add on another $100 for anything else that comes up for Marty. We did already raise $75 online so that is why we are hoping for $513.00

If you can help and make a donation, it will be really appreciated. We are a 501 c 3 non profit so all donations, any and all amounts, are tax deductible. You can donate here, or mail a check to WPR, PO Box 291, Waverly, IA 50677. (Include a note it is for Marty)
