Saving More Lives

First Coast No More Homeless Pets has been a national leader in innovative lifesaving programs for over a decade. We need to expand! We are building another clinic in a low-income neighborhood, and profits will be used to expand our lifesaving programs that helped make Jacksonville No-Kill to other communities. Construction is underway but we need funding for medical equipment. Please help us save lives! We can't do it without you!

YOU CAN HELP SAVE THE LIVES
OF DOGS AND CATS!

How did Jacksonville animal shelters reduce their animal deaths by 95% in just 13 years? Hard work, collaboration and the targeted programs developed by First Coast No More Homeless Pets (FCNMHP!) Jacksonville is now one of the largest cities in the nation to be considered No-Kill. Now, we want to expand this result to all of Northeast Florida…and then the nation!

What are these programs? First and foremost, targeted spay/neuter. Last year we performed 31,125 surgeries, targeting pets owned by low-income persons, large dogs and cats, especially feral cats, making a huge impact on pet overpopulation.

And, while we are not a shelter, we have massive adoption programs involving shelters and rescues from throughout Northeast Florida and Southern Georgia. Upwards of 1,000 pets find new homes in a single week-end at our quarterly Mega Adoptions. We are now expanding this with smaller Super Adoptions around the region.

We also focus on dogs most likely to be euthanized because they are hard-to-adopt. We take these dogs and place them in four Florida prisons as part of our TAILS program where they are trained, socialized and cared for by inmates and at the end of their stay, ready for their new homes!

We know that some animals end up in the shelter because their owners cannot afford their care so we have programs to prevent this. We conduct a pet food bank for low-income pet owners. We operate a low-cost veterinary clinic. We have an outreach program where we go door-to-door in low-income neighborhoods to advise people of resources available for their pets. And, we have an Angel Fund to pay for lifesaving medical care for strays and pets whose owners cannot afford it.

How do we do all this? Our vet clinic helps support our other programs, we get grants, and we have wonderful donors like you!

We know that with the proper resources we can achieve our next goal of making all of Northeast Florida No-Kill. We know what needs to be done, and we have put together a coalition of animal welfare groups in 12 Florida counties. But we need your help!

The new veterinary clinic we are building will serve residents in low income neighborhoods with few veterinary resources. So this clinic will serve one of our important goals in helping to keep pets healthy in the home and out of shelters. But it also has an important secondary goal—supporting and expanding our other important programs.

Even with our low-cost rates, the new clinic, when operating at full capacity, is projected to net $1,000,000 annually. These funds will be used to save the lives of dogs and cats throughout Northeast Florida!

We have purchased the building and are in the midst of rehabbing it, but we still need funds for needed medical equipment. By clicking on one the squares, you can provide funds for equipment such as:

  • 12 I-V pumps at approximately $1,000 each

  • 12 cat scales at $250 each

  • 2 dog scales at $850 each

  • 2 autoclave machines (sterilizers) at $5,000 each

  • 11 exam tables at $800 each

  • 4 anesthesia machines at $1,700 each

  • 1 dental machine for approximately $8,000
