Hoarding Puppies with Parvo

We urgently need your help!

These poor puppies were just rescued from a horrendous hoarding situation. Within days of finally experiencing a safe, warm home with their loving foster families, they one-by-one started to fall critically ill. They're now fighting for their lives after being diagnosed with parvo.

We desperately need your help to save these puppies' lives.

Campaign Details

These puppies were just rescued from a hoarding situation where 26 dogs were living in horrendous conditions. Within days of finally experiencing a safe, warm home and loving foster family, they one-by-one started to fall critically ill.

Over the course of this week, 10 puppies were rushed to the veterinary hospital after breaking with parvo. Three remain hospitalized and in critical condition, and six are now receiving round-the-clock care from our dedicated foster and medical team. Unfortunately, one puppy was just too sick and passed away. As heartbroken as we are for poor little Blaine, we’re comforted knowing that he was loved and well cared for in his final days. We’re hopeful that the rest of the puppies will pull through and are dedicated to giving them the best chance possible.

This outbreak has already had a significant financial impact on our rescue, costing over $25,000 over the course of one week. That amount of money typically lasts over 5 months and allows us to spay/neuter and provide standard vetting to 114 animals.

We are not sparing any expense to try to save these sweet babies, but we cannot continue to afford their care as more and more puppies break with parvo every day — not without your help.

    Here's the latest!

We are happy to report that our last little guy, Beckham, has been discharged from the vet and doing well! Yay!!

It looks like we have come out on the other side of this nightmare, and we could not have done it without your help and support. Thank you so much to our donors, fosters, volunteers, and especially Eltingville Veterinary Practice for all their help in saving these puppies lives! Out of the ten puppies who came down with parvo, unfortunately we lost two of them, but we are so proud of these little fighters for giving it their all. Now onto recovery, and then the rest of their lives!!

Thank you again, and have a happy and safe New Year!

Merry Christmas and thank you so much for helping us take care of the puppies with parvo. Thanks to you and so many other animal loving caring people, we've almost reached our goal.

Here's the latest. There's some good news and unfortunately not good news...

Seven puppies are thankfully recovering at home and doing well, while one puppy remains hospitalized. After doing well last weekend, Beckham unfortunately crashed again. He received a plasma transfusion and was seen by a specialist who put him on an additional IV medication. Now he is up and eating and we’re hoping he’ll be able to return home very soon!

We’re very sad to also share that Coty passed away earlier this week. Despite our heartbreak, we’re so very grateful for Coty and Blaine’s wonderful foster families and the endless love they provided both puppies with during their short time here.

Please share this campaign (using the buttons below) with others you think might want to help too. That's how we'll reach our goal and hopefully go well beyond it. These puppies will need a lot more care.

We'll do our very best to share more updates in the coming days.

Thank you again and big hugs,

    Louie's Legacy Animal Rescue
