2025 was another heavy year. The rescue world grows heavier by the day. Shelters are more crowded than ever. We are still living in the aftermath of the COVID crash; an endless wave of abandoned and returned animals, flooding a system already at its breaking point.
This year alone, SNARR adopted out over 720 dogs.
Seven hundred and twenty lives saved because compassion outweighed fear. Because hope was louder than exhaustion.
But there was heartbreak too.
Precious souls we were too late to save.
Dogs we fought for with everything we had, who didn’t make it.
Losses that stay with us long after the posts fade.
And yet… the wins.
The ones who survived against all odds.
The ones who healed when no one thought they could.
The ones curled up on couches tonight, alive, because this community refused to look away.
As we enter our 16th year of rescue, we look toward 2026 with cautious hope. Hope that things may slow down. Hope for fewer abandoned animals. Hope that rescues might finally get a moment to breathe.
But if we’re being honest, we know the struggle will continue.
We will still receive hundreds of pleas for help every single day.
We will still have to say no far more than we ever want to.
We will still stand helpless as millions of animals needlessly die.
And still, we will persevere for the ones we do save.
We will stand by them.
We will stand by our mission of “Giving Hope to the Hopeless.”
We will live by the words that define us: Dum Spiro Spero — “While I breathe, I hope.”
SNARR stands apart and we are proud to stand apart.
People sometimes say we could save more dogs if we didn’t focus on the medically needy. But this rescue was built for them. They are our passion. They are our purpose. They are the reason SNARR exists.
As we close out this year and step into the next, we ask humbly and honestly, that you consider an end-of-year (or beginning of 2026) donation to SNARR.
Your support is not just generosity.
It is survival.
It is hope.
It is the reason the dogs who have no other chance still have one.
From the bottom of our hearts thank you for believing in us, for standing with us, and for saving lives alongside us.
While we breathe… we hope.
And because of you, we keep going
