Campaign Details

On July 11, 2017, the badly beaten body of 19 year-old Ms. Chynelle Lockwood was found face down on the beach near St. Michaels, Alaska. The investigation of her death was first considered suspicious, and later confirmed as a homicide, a homicide. What is the definition of "homicide"? Google defines homicide as:
"The deliberate and unlawful killing of one person by another; murder."
Murder. That is what this is, murder. One person or several people deliberately, (ON PURPOSE) killed Chynelle. Now I ask you, "Is this the kind of people we are? Is this the kind of community we want our people to live in? Is this how we were raised? Sit down and shut up?"
We fight the outside world day in and day out, angry about how another society has taken away our cultural identity as Yup'ik people, but we have become our own worst enemy. We are killing our own people from within and doing nothing about it.
Chynelle was a person, she was a daughter, a friend, and she was loved by her many family members. She spent her entire life in the village of St. Michaels. People in Western Alaska watched her grow up from a baby to a beautiful blossomed young lady. She had aspirations and dreams, which were, without a bat of an eye, or a second thought, taken from her, robbed her of her life, her future, and her dreams.
If this was your child, would you simply sit back and accept it or would you want justice for your child? I'm guessing the latter. As a mother myself, my heart breaks for Chynelle's mother, father, and family.
I want to help and so can you. The objective of this reward money, no matter its size, is to bring to justice the horrific killer or killers of this young lady, Ms. Chynelle Lockwood.
I cannot express to you how extremely angry this senseless killing makes me. I am begging you or whoever to stand up and do the right thing. If you know anything about who killed Chynelle, please tell the police. Agent Dupres with the Alaska Bureau of Investigation can be reached at 907-269-5057, the Alaska State Troopers 907-269-5611, and always 911. Regardless of the past relationship Alaska Natives have had with our states law enforcement, we have to trust they will do their job the best they can, and they need our help. There is still a killer(s) roaming the area, and your lives, your children's lives are endangered. The thing about people, who kill other people, is that they don't stop killing people.
So if we are going to help bring Chynelle's killer(s) to justice, help ourselves as a community, a society, and as Yup'ik's we have to do the right thing, we have to speak up. Nobody is going to fix this but us. Now is not the time to feel like you might be hurting someone else's feelings. A young lady is dead; her feelings will never be felt again. Someone please do what's right, for a woman and family who were done so very wrong.
Please share this campaign and bring peace to this family and justice for her murder.
To claim this reward, you must collaborate with the police and the accused must be arrested. Your identity will be confirmed with law enforcement, and all personal information will be kept confidential. In the event that an arrest is not made and no one has come forward, all the funds will go to a charity of the family's choice in Chynelle's name.
