Thank You Gifts
Built in 1940 and almost completely destroyed by arson fire in 2010, Iceland is an historic community gem and is located in one of Sacramento's most economically disadvantaged areas. Reorganized as a non-profit in 2011, Iceland's mission is to promote the sport of ice skating.
The goal of our Sponsor a Dream program is to provide at least 450 local, low-income children and young adults 8-week ice skating lessons.
By making a donation to help sponsor these lessons, you are giving an extraordinary gift. The opportunity to learn a sport and new skills, a healthy form of exercise and a fun activity all provide positive benefits to children, especially self-esteem building. Children who are engaged in positive extracurricular activities tend to perform better in school and in their communities.
Ice skating is a skill that is almost like riding a bike. Once the basics are mastered, the ability to enjoy skating stays with you forever, as do the fond memories and friends made at the rink.
Thank you for Sponsoring a Dream!
