Molly Beat the Odds!

The shelter alert came in on 9/15, at East Valley Shelter:

A2051515 - FEMALE , WHITE MIXED BREED Avail 9/18/22

We asked volunteer Heidi to adopt her when she became available and foster her for a few days.  Heidi jumped to the task, and upon calling the shelter, discovered this girl was in medical crisis and we needed to "Good Sam" her out and to a vet ASAP.

She weighs approximately 38.00 lbs. She has been at the shelter since 9/14/2022
Medical Condition: Depressed and in underweight body condition. Swelling of left hind leg and swelling on both sides above vulva noted. Dog has no appetite. Needs immediate veterinary care and diagnostics.

Campaign Details

Dawn was on the road, her first day off in over 3 years - and we had a medical crisis. Thankfully we were able to rely on Heidi, East Valley Shelter and the wonderful vets at Sherman Oaks Veterinary Hospital to expedite this girl in for evaluation and medical care. She needed a name and Heidi picked "Molly".

Emaciated, a white blood cell count of over 60,000 and swelling in her rear legs had everyone jumping through hoops.  Rads, testing, diagnostics and IV drip overnight found her heading into immediate surgery for Pyometra first thing the next day.  4 Days of IV fluids, antibiotics and pain management and today she stepped into our care officially.  She has a road to heal ahead of her, but she is on the right path!

Just her intake vet bill was $4500.00!  This girl needs so much to become the pampered pooch she deserves to be!
