Campaign Details

Two years ago you helped us open a new museum to share our amazing Animal Ambassadors with the public, of which 98% are rescues, and two percent are donated. We wanted to give them a place where everyone would be able to be up close and hands-on with them as they learned about their unique beauty and the critical roles they play in the environment. It became a place where people could learn to appreciate them, students of all ages could learn with and through them, and begin to understand the impact they have had throughout history on man, his art, culture, science, medicine, and even our very existence. It is also a safe home where our rescued Ambassadors could continue to heal from the neglect and abuse many suffered before they came to EcoVivarium.

We built their original museum homes from a combination of reclaimed and repurposed supplies and new lumber. Frankly, some have not held up well to their unique demands. We desperately need to improve and repair the enclosures for the comfort and safety of the animals. The floors need to be tiled and sealed for security and to eliminate any potential danger from standing water and waste on the wood surfaces. Special reptile lighting and heating need to be replaced with safer designs to eliminate dangling wires and improve climate control in each enclosure. We need to add new climbing structures, decor, and detail to provide mental stimulation and encourage their physical activity. At the same time that we are improving the conditions for the animals, our visitors will enjoy a more attractive and natural appearance in animal environments, and it will help us to educate children on the fragility and human impact on their natural habitats.

The work doesn't stop in the museum. While few people see behind the scenes, many of the animal sleeping quarters have been outgrown, and most have lived many years past their intended design with patchwork repairs. We desperately need to replace several enclosures with new modern lightweight habitats that provide the room and security our growing Ambassadors need. We can't do this on our own; we need your help. Every donation puts us that much closer to giving these amazing creatures the best life possible and creates a safe learning environment for students that visit and volunteer at EcoVivarium. Every day these animals give their all so that students can learn about the critical role they play and how we can all work together to protect and preserve this one world we share with them. Please give so they can continue to educate and change lives every day. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts and the tips of their scales!
