🎂 A Birthday Reflection: My Heart, My Friends, and Our Mission
To my wonderful community of friends and family—the people who have walked this long road of rescue alongside me for so many years:
As I celebrate another birthday, my heart is incredibly full. You know that for most of my life, my primary devotion has been to the "wiggle-butts" who have no one else. But what I don’t say often enough is that this mission simply would not exist without you. I’m reaching out today to ask for your support for Boxer Rescue of Vermont. I don’t want to beat anyone over the head for a donation, but rather, I want to invite you to donate so we can continue the incredible life saving work we’ve done together on behalf of the dogs.
The True Cost of Compassion
As many of you know, our rescue is entirely volunteer-run. We don’t have a payroll, but we do have a massive, ever-growing operational overhead. The "business of saving lives" has become increasingly complex and expensive. Every dollar we raise together goes toward the heavy lifting:
• Life-Saving Medical Care: Addressing the complex health needs of dogs who have suffered from years of neglect.
• The Logistical Web: Funding the urgent transport and safe boarding required to pull dogs from high-kill environments.
• A Bridge to the Future: Providing the specialized care and rehabilitation that allows these beautiful souls to find the forever homes they deserve.
Why I’m Asking for Your Help
We are currently facing a systemic crisis in animal welfare, where shelters are forced to make heartbreaking choices due to overpopulation. When Boxer Rescue of VT says "Yes" to a dog on a kill list, we are assuming a significant financial responsibility.
You are the reason we can say "Yes." Over the years, your generosity has been the safety net that catches these dogs when they fall. You aren't just donors; you are the literal life-line for this organization.
My Birthday Wish
If you are able to contribute—whether it’s $10, $25, $100, or just a quick share of this post—please know how much it means to me. There is no gift I could receive that compares to the knowledge that another Boxer is safe tonight because of your kindness.
Thank you for loving me, for loving these dogs, and for being the village it takes to do this work. I am so grateful to have you in my life.
With so much love and gratitude,
Bunny 🐾❤️
