HELP GET THEM OUT

Urgent help needed for 10 DOGS IN DANGER!

We received an urgent plea from one of our shelter partners in Georgia. Ten dogs, including puppies, are at immediate risk of euthanasia. We want to stress that this isn't a decision shelters take lightly - the volunteers are devastated and are pleading for their lives.

County shelters are controlled by the county and the Department of Health, and when they reach capacity, they are mandated to euthanize.

Shelter workers and volunteers can not stop that, but they try. Time is running out for these ten dogs, and we cannot bear the thought of them losing their life.

Please help us save them all. Their time is running out.

We need the support of our community to pull them to safety. Taking on 10 dogs at once is a HUGE undertaking, but if we don’t save them, they will lose their lives.

Not only is taking 10 dogs at once a lot, but it is very costly, and we have to raise the funds to cover the cost of care, transport, and hospitalization.

There’s so much that goes into Rescue; it takes a village.

NYC Second Chance Rescue

About the Organization

In 2009, NYC Second Chance Rescue began as a small dream, founded on the firm belief that all animals deserve love and care, and that no animal should ever be subjected to abuse, neglect or homelessness. All proceeds go directly to the animals, and to date, we have relied solely on donations from loyal supporters. Our mission is to offer a second chance to those animals less fortunate — those with critical medical, emotional or behavioral issues.

    ❤️ Adopters and Fosters needed!❤️

Nearly four weeks ago, we rescued 10 dogs from a municipal shelter in Georgia, just in time, as they were scheduled to be euthanized. Thanks to the incredible support of you, our village, we saved their lives. But our work isn’t over yet. Four of those 10 dogs are still searching for homes.

Devon, Felicia, Rebeck, and Ricken are ready to leave their past behind and find a wonderful family of their own!

Devon is a 4-year-old Female Shitzu.
Felicia is a 3.5-month-old Female lab mix
Rebeck, 12 weeks old, Female lab mix
    Ricken, 7-Year-old Male Shitzu

Adoption applications are at an all-time low, and the only way we can continue saving lives is by making space. These dogs need a home (foster or forever), so we can rescue more who are still in danger.

Maybe you’re not in a position to adopt or foster, but someone in your circle might be. Your share could reach a friend, neighbor, coworker, or family member—and it could be the reason a life is saved.

    With Heartfelt Gratitude,
    NYC Second Chance Rescue

We are so grateful to share that the 10 dogs we posted last night were picked up from the shelter this morning and are now SAFE at Dr. Terry’s!!!!!!!

Last night, we asked for your help saving 10 dogs set to be euthanized at a municipal shelter in Georgia. Shelter volunteers sent us a plea, and we took to social media in hopes that our community would rally to help raise the critical funding needed to provide them with transport, medical care, and sanctuary.

WE DID IT TEAM!! We were their last hope, and together, we saved their lives!

Thank you a million times for standing by our side and believing in Second Chances. Today, ten dogs are safe because of you. They now have new names in celebration of their new lease on life.

Without further ado, allow us to introduce the Severance Crew: Gemma Scout, Rebeck, Felicia, Ms. Huang, Devon, Ricken, Ms. Casey, Helly R., Mark Scout, and Milchick.

We’re going to let these pups settle in and enjoy some loving care from the staff. We’ll share another update soon.

    With Heartfelt Gratitude,
    NYC Second Chance Rescue
