Tommy is a very sick 4 1/2 month old helpless puppy. He is from our rescue litter #7 for 2015 and due to some thoughtless negligence in foster to adopt, he can no longer walk. He has some serious neurological complications and we are doing our best to help him recover. We have saved so many sickly unfortunate dogs and puppies this year and we hope you can help us fill our Giving Grid to help Tommy and so many more in our program.

Searching for the best square...
We'd love to see a rainbow of faces in our GivingGrid!
We use PayPal for payment processing on GivingGrid.com. It's both safe and secure.
Zero! GivingGrid doesn't charge you any fees!
With GivingGrid you only pay third party credit card processing fees directly to the payment processor. Those are roughly 2%, plus a small transaction fee, if you are a 501c3.
So how does GivingGrid pay for its operating expenses and keep the lights on?
We apply a unique method where the donor is given the option to add a small contribution for us, in addition to their donation. Think of it as a tip. If they think we're providing a valuable service, they give us a little something. If not, they have the option to lower it or make it zero and give us nothing. No matter what, the fundraiser never gets hit with a fee from us and GivingGrid assumes all the risk! Sound fair?
Simple! The money you raise goes directly into your PayPal account. From there it's up to you. GivingGrid never touches the funds.
If you have any questions about getting the money you've already raised, please contact PayPal. Click the link below to contact them:
It could be because you set a "Start Date" in the future. Go to your Settings and check the Start Date. Settings > Additional Settings > Set Start & End Dates. If that's the problem, just adjust it to today if you want it to show now. You should also make sure you not receiving any error messages, due to missing required fields or incorrect input.
If neither of these things are the problem, click contact us and we'll look into it ASAP and get back to you.
No, unfortunately we no longer allow personal fundraisers.
However, if you have fundraised with us in the past and want to run another campaign, please reach out to us. We may be able to make an exception...
Yes. GivingGrid only allows certified nonprofit organizations to fundraise on its platform.

There are some great marketing tools available to you, after you launch your campaign. First, a big pop-up with all kinds of options will come up automatically when you launch and if you're not quite ready, you can always go to "My Promo Page," which you will find in your settings for all launched campaigns. It's a big orange button.
Yes for Standard GivingGrids and Wall of Love, but not for Urgent Help! We don't offer it for Urgent Help, because the typical campaign is over in just a few days.
Make sure you're logged in and go to Settings > Additional Settings > Run on Your Website and follow the instructions. Everything is synced, so a donation made on your website updates everywhere else. One thing to note, if you don't allocate enough space, we'll automatically show a very cool widget. Details are in your settings.
Here's an example:
Offline donations can be made on all of our platforms. Make sure you're logged in and go to Settings > Additional Settings > Manage Offline Donations. We recommend that you do not enter any offline donations until you've had several online donations. That way potential donors won't be confused by the fact that you've raised money, but there aren't any squares taken.
Note: This feature allows you to increase the total amount raised on your campaign, but it does not record any information or input donor information, photos or messages into the squares on the grid.
For Standard GivingGrids
Make sure you're logged in and go to Settings > Fundraising Goal & Grid Type. Next to your goal above the preview grid, click the edit link. Change your goal in the pop-up and click submit.
For Wall of Love
If you have a goal (it's optional), just go to General Settings, change it and click save.
For Urgent Help
Go to General Settings, change it and click save.
Note: be careful how you use this function. Don't get in the habit of raising your goal, just because you're close to hitting it or have already passed it. That's great and people want to see you beat it big-time! If you keep raising it, donors will start to wonder why you even have a goal and lose interest. One increase would be the maximum we'd recommend. It's primarily there to lower your goal if you were a little too ambitious and set it too high.
For 1,2,3
You change your goal by changing the number of squares in General Settings. Once you get your first donation, you are locked in and can no longer change the goal.
For Standard GivingGrids, make sure you're logged in and go to Settings > Fundraising Goal & Grid Type. This is to do it manually. There's also an automatic feature (on Blank Squares) you can turn off or on in your settings. We recommend you leave it on and let it happen automatically when needed. Then you'll never run out of squares. Anytime 75% of your squares are taken, another ring of squares is added.
For Urgent Help campaigns, make sure you're logged in and go to Settings > Grid Settings and click the Add Squares button. This is to do it manually. There's also an automatic feature you can turn off or on in your settings. We recommend you leave it on and let it happen automatically when needed. Then you'll never run out of squares. Anytime 75% of your squares are taken, another ring of squares is added.
Please note: Once you receive your first donation, you can still add squares, but you cannot delete them.
For Wall of Love, it's all automatic, unless you turn it off in your settings. Anytime 75% of your squares are taken, another ring of squares is added.
You cannot add squares to a 1,2,3 campaign.
This feature is available on Standard GivingGrids, Wall of Love, Urgent Help and 1,2,3. Make sure you're logged in and go to Settings > Additional Settings > Set Start & End Dates.
This feature is not available with Blaze.
Someone clicks on a square and gets this message:
"This square is currently on hold for another supporter for X MORE MINUTES. Please pick another square or if this is the square you've got to have, you can check back in a little bit. Maybe they won't take it before their time is up? You can also keep clicking this check again button. Maybe they'll cancel it before their time is up?"
GivingGrid works just like when you buy theatre or event tickets online with reserved seating. When someone clicks on a square we hold it for them for 15 minutes to complete the donation. If they don't complete their donation in 15 minutes or if they click on another square, that square becomes available again.
Yes you can and we encourage it! It adds credibility to your campaign. You do that in Settings > Organization Information.
We recommend only linking to your homepage.
To remove your account, please contact us. Unless there are special circumstances, we cannot delete accounts that are connected to GivingGrids that have had donations. Once someone donates to a campaign, we're obligated to leave that GivingGrid available, so they can view or share their donation. Therefore, the account also needs to be left intact.
While we do not share specific information as to why an account has been suspended, it could be for many reasons, including but not limited to:
The simple difference between the two is that with a Standard GivingGrid the donor can upload a photo with their donation and with Wall of Love they post a heart and a message with their donation. No photo. Some campaigns work great with photos and other are better without, so you have both options.
We don't recommend Wall of Love for animal campaigns, because people love uploading photos of their fur kids.
GivingGrid is a free service and our entire income comes from optional tips provided by donors. We do our very best to provide speedy customer support to everyone, but we do have limits. While we rarely reach these limits, we cannot continue to provide support to users who have an excessive amount of customer service requests or are abusive or disrespectful of GivingGrid support personnel.
We hope you understand.
Yes and no. You are welcome to include a mailing address in case someone wants to mail you a check. There are still some people who don't want to donate online. What we don't allow is the direct solicitation encouraging people to donate online elsewhere. In other words, what you can't do is put a link to your website (or others) donation page (including Venmo or other payment services) on your campaign and ask people to go there and donate. It's confusing and why would you want to do that anyway?
If you still feel the need to include links or write something in your campaign that in any way suggests to donors that they can go elsewhere to donate, we won’t stop you and we’ll still allow you to use our service. However, we will not be able to provide you or your donors with any support and there will be no exceptions. We hope you understand.
Yes we do, but not all countries at this time. We also allow GivingGrids to be set-up using Pounds, Euros, Canadian dollars, Australian dollars and New Zealand dollars via PayPal. Simply choose the currency you want in your payment processing settings during set-up.

Any square that doesn't have a photo or name is available. Just click on the available square you want, fill out the short form, click the "Donate" button and you're on your way!
With our new Fund-icons, you may see a heart, happy face, paw print, flowers or even a company logo. That's what you'd click on to make a donation. Most campaigns also have a donate button.
We use PayPal for all payment and credit/debit card processing on GivingGrid.com. Everyone knows PayPal and they are safe and secure. You can easily use Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express. You do not need a PayPal account.
If you have a PayPal account, you can also donate with the money in your account.
We do not accept checks, wire transfers or ACH payments at this time.
Rest assured that GivingGrid.com and the donation payment process through any of our payment processing partners is secure. Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology is used by all to make sure your information is safe.
In addition, GivingGrid never touches the funds you donate. They either go directly to the fundraisers PayPal account (or through PayPal Giving Fund first and then to the fundraiser), depending on the type of campaign. GivingGrid never stores any of your credit card information either. Only PayPal sees that during payment processing.
Your donation to a US-Based 501(c)3 charitable organization through GivingGrid.com is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. You'll automatically receive an email receipt from the payment processor for a record of your donation.
Donations to personal fundraisers that aren't going to a US-Based 501(c)3 charitable organization are generally not tax deductible. Please check with your tax professional to be sure.
Your credit card is charged right away when you successfully complete your donation. The fundraiser will typically receive your donation within 1-3 business days (typically one day).

While the fundraiser will certainly make every effort to reach their fundraising goal, your donation will be provided to the fundraiser even if they don't achieve it. Remember, it's still for a good cause.
We do not charge the fundraiser any fees, so your entire contribution goes to them (minus 3rd party credit card fees).
Our only source of income are optional small extra contributions that donors provide beyond their donation to the fundraiser. We need this funding to help cover all the costs associated with providing this site for free to all the wonderful causes we support. Think of it as a small tip. It will be displayed to you during the donation process as a separate line item, so you can clearly see the small amount we're requesting. You will be given the ability to edit the amount up or down or even make it zero if you don’t think we’re deserving. Hopefully you won’t think that…

One of the most difficult things in rescue is to walk the kennels at high-intake municipal shelters. Each dog is begging to be noticed, each trying to get your attention in some way. Some bark and others jump. The sad fact is that they all deserve to be picked, they all deserve to be saved and given a second chance. Seeing their faces, knowing that some won’t ever get that chance rips your heart out and makes you want to cry.

In 2018, over 700,000 dogs and cats were killed in animal shelters in the US, simply because they didn’t have safe places to call home. That's about one every 45 seconds. With your help, we're out to change that one animal at a time, starting with this one!

Rainbow in Alabama before she came to town-- so frightened and so thin and sickly. She lost 3 out of 7 puppies before we got her on the life saving antibiotics.

With 2015 coming to a close, it has been quite another challenging year and we need your support and donations as much as ever. We have been blessed this year with 2 new thoughtful volunteer veterinarians that have overseen the care of many of our tick borne disease infected dogs and puppies including Trudy's and Ellie's litters that were born in their homes. With their help, Dr. John Rimkunas and Dr. Cory Williams are making huge strides in diagnoising and treating many at risk dogs and puppies and most recently horses with information provided by IBR Founder and President after following the care of hundreds of dogs and puppies the past few years.
Since 2002 Illinois Birddog Rescue has saved and rehomed over 1200 dogs, puppies, cats and kittens but it has not been easy. I personally have been fighting my own Lyme disease fior 17 years and that gives me a unique perspective on how these poor animals must suffer. Tick borne disease is epidemic in this country- while the CDC raised thier statistic of infected humans annually from 30,000 to 300,00, we in the Lyme community know the actual number is probably closer to 3,000,000 annually or more. Based on our dog, puppy, cat and kitten infection rate being nearly 100% from coast to coast-- we know this is a HUGE problem and thousands of animals are never diagnosed and suffer.
We are doing our best to document our discoveries but testing and treatment is expensive. On average the cost to diagnose and treat and infected dog or puppy can run easily over $500 based on repeat testing and the cost of antibiotics. Dr. Cory and Dr. John have been so helpful with discounted testing, but we have brought in so many other pets with additional health complications and one major emergency can run into the thousands.
My hope with this Giving Grid is to help IBR with our current outstanding vet bills which are close to $5,000, and then to help the following dogs with their testing, treatment spays and neuters and follow up testing. It would also be nice to have supplies on hand for all our dogs and also money in the bank for the occasional emergency that might come up.
Here is our current vetting to do list and approximate cost:
Tommy/ AL Mixed Breed Puppy -- So far our vetting expenses for Tommy are at about $600, but the vetting estimates for his spinal tap and MRI range from $2,000 to $3,000. He is going for his initial chiropractic/neurology appointment with Dr. Carl DeStefano on 12-15 and we'll update his facebook page there.

Clancy/ IL English Pointer -- Poor sweet Clancy, such terrible neglect and such a struggle post her near starvation, complicated by heartworm, Lyme disease, Rocky Mountain spotted fever and a chronic sinus infection. She's been fighting for 16 months now and we have close to $3,000 into her care and monthly food, medication and supplements run over $100 a month.

Hansel & Gretel/ GA Pit Mixes-- follow up blood work and tick panels, both were diagnosed with Lyme and Rocky Mountain spotted fever in 2014 and Gretel still has an issue with mange. We really need to get them into foster or foster to adopt. Cost to vet $200 each.

Honey BEEgle/KY-- Honey needs a dental and a skin tag removed from her belly. Estimated cost $250.

Matilda/AL Collie Mix (Tommy's mommy)-- Matilda is heartworm positive and she also has at least 3 tick borne diseases. She is in our Heartworm Slow Kill treatment program and the cost of initial blood work, medications for up to 18 months and her spay will be close to $700.

Harrison/ IL English Setter -- Like Matilda, Harrison is heartworm positive and he still needs all his blood work. He is in our Heartworm Slow Kill treatment program and the cost of initial blood work, medications for up to 18 months and his neuter will be close to $700.

Dudley/ MO English Pointer --Dudley is an older Pointer and he is positive for Lyme disease and Rocky Mountain spotted fever but doing well. He needs his neuter and some creepy nipples removed duirng that surgery. Estimates are around $350. We already have $300 into his care.

Champ/ AL English Pointer -- Champ and is sister Jilly are both positive for Lyme disease and Rocky Mountain spotted fever. Jilly is in foster to adopt and doing well. Champ still needs his neuter and cost thus far for testing and meds is clost to $300.

Jasmine/ AL Beagle mix -- Jasmine was saved from being killed from the same shelter we pulled Champ and Jilly from. She needs all her blood work and her spay. Estimated cost $300.
Grandpaw/ AL Pointer mix -- Grandpaw was saved from a Southern Alabama shelter. He is still so very thin and needs all his blood work and if healthy enough his neuter. Estimated cost $300.
Bertram/ IA Red Bone Coonhound -- Bert is an abuse/neglect case out of Iowa. He has already put on 20lbs since he came into our program and has been diagnosed with Lyme disease and Rocky Mountain spotted fever. Cost of testing and meds is at $250 and we still need to have him neutered another $100.

Lou Lou/ KY Coonhound Mix -- Lou Lou came in with a very back broken leg. We have fundraised a bit for her care-- but still need funds to help with her follow up surgery, blood work and spay. Estimated costs are $400

Blood work for Ellie's 8 puppies, Rainbow's 4 puppies, Matilda's 7 puppies and Thelma's 6 puppies-- $5,000
