Kong's Krusade for Dublin

We urgently need your help!

Please help Kong in his "Krusade" for Dublin.  (Kong - spokes pup for Hillcrest Animal Rescue)  Dublin was left for dead on the side of a road! Shattered right knee!  Multiple abrasions!  Infested with fleas!  And, no identification!  All-obvious signs of neglect.  Unfortunately, with a deeper investigation, there are other hidden signs of carelessness.  Dublin has worms trying to take over his heart, and what a kind heart he has.  Please read "Kong's Crusade for Dublin".  We hope you find it in your heart to help us with Dublin's medical expenses.  We are committed to remaining by his side until he's healthy and has found a loving home.

Kong’s Krusade for Dublin

Hi!  Meet my buddy Dublin!  When mom brought “Dub” home to stay with us, I overheard her tell his story to my dad.  A family brought Dublin to the Collin County Animal Shelter (CCAS) with a shattered right knee.  I think they found him, left for dead, on the side of the road.  No telling what hit him!  CCAS brings broken pups to my veterinarian, Doc, to see if she can fix them.  Mom thinks highly of CCAS because they try real hard to help injured kids feel better.  When mom heard he was going to have his leg amputated, she offered to take responsibility for Dublin.  She thought he would be more comfortable at our house.  While he was in surgery, he was neutered and microchipped as well.  Mom says this will help him live a longer and healthier life, like me!

Poor Dublin was skinned up pretty bad from the accident, and he was covered with pesky fleas.  I have had fleas before, and it makes me itch just to think about it.  Dublin is free of fleas now because he takes the same medicine as me to keep them away.  Most of his wounds have healed too!

Doc ran tests on Dublin and discovered that he has heartworms.  Of all the luck!  This means that as soon as Dublin recovers from his amputation, he will have to get a couple of very painful shots to start the process of ridding the worms that are trying to take over his heart.  I am going to do my best to chill with Dublin during this time.  Mom says it is crucial that Dub does not get too excited while on the heartworm treatment.

Dublin has had some pretty rotten luck,  Hey!  I hear “Dublin” is a city in Ireland!  What happened to the “Luck of the Irish”?  Well, here is my Irish blessing for Dublin, “May your troubles be less and your blessings be more, and nothing but happiness come through your door.”  Please help me with my “krusade” so that we can continue to help mend broken pups like Dublin.

Thank you,

Kong
