Campaign Details

This is the sad reality at overcrowded shelters across the country. The shelters are doing their absolute best to save lives, but this is just not sustainable. This is why we continue to beg for help. Their lives are in danger. They need all of us to do more, to do better.

These are the faces of thousands of dogs who sit in shelters across the country. They are shut down, scared, ill or hurt and uncertain of where their future lies. A narrative that plays out far too often.
These dogs sit in a shelter, waiting for their chance to find their own family. The truth is that a lot of animals won’t make it out. Their biggest advocates are the volunteers and staff telling their stories to the public. They love them, and often, the love they give these homeless animals is the only love they will ever know.

They need us, and we are confident that with your help, we can save more...
December 2nd is GivingTuesday. It was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good and help others. If we can get enough people to give us a small amount, we can get through this mess. We're pleading for your help... We need to catch a break.
While we are so grateful to our community of supporters for helping us survive this long, we are continuing to struggle and unfortunately moving backwards, in terms of our expenses versus our donations.
Somehow, we always find a way to make it through for the benefit of those precious souls. Sometimes it almost seems impossible and we look back and wonder how we got by. Then we quickly remember, our miracle is you!
Thank you for helping us in honor of GivingTuesday and in the spirit of the holidays…
Animal Assistance League of Slidell
About the Organization
The Animal Assistance League of Slidell is a 501(c)(3) all-volunteer non-profit dedicated to ensuring the safety, happiness, and health of homeless, abused, and surrendered animals at the shelter while they await adoption. We provide food, medical care, vaccinations, and comfort items for all animals at the Slidell Animal Control Shelter, as taxpayer dollars are typically not used for these needs. Our mission includes preventing cruelty to animals and raising funds for their care, as well as educating the public about responsible pet ownership and spaying/neutering. We are committed to keeping pets safe, happy and healthy while they wait to be placed in a forever home.
