Feeding the Future of Kansas
Kansas Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom (KFAC) is on a mission to provide educational resources all about agriculture to Kansas teachers and youth. Did you know that by the year 2050, our population will be over 9 billion people? That is a lot of mouths to feed! It is our role to help the next generation understand and appreciate where their food, fuel and fiber comes from so that we can ensure a sustainable future for our growing population.
The way that KFAC does this is by connecting with teachers all across the great state of Kansas. Through various professional development events such as 3-day summer institutes, a summer conference and in-service workshops called A+STEM, we provide teachers with materials, activities and ideas that allow them to use agriculture to teach core subjects like science, math, social studies and language arts. We don't want to add more to their plate - just give them tools and fresh ideas to teach what they already have to teach!
KFAC is 100% donor-funded. This means that each year we must seek and obtain grants, donors and other sources of funding to ensure our programming reaches more and more Kansas teachers. We are so thankful for the many businesses and individuals that have supported us in the last 35 years!
But we still have work to do and we need YOUR HELP. Every donation helps us further our mission and work toward feeding the future of Kansas and the globe. Join us today on #GivingTuesday, where every dollar you donate will be matched dollar-for-dollar by Central National Bank and Farm Credit Associations of Kansas.
