Campaign Details

Dear Forgotten Friends of Long Island Friends and Supporters,

Now in existence for just over 8 years, Forgotten Friends of Long Island continues to strive to expand its programs and offerings to the homeless dogs and cats in our community and local shelters. Sadly, now more than ever, we need your help! Not only for the animals currently in our care, or for the future companions which we will welcome with open arms, but for our organization as a whole! We are losing our lease as of October 31st.  We are in dire need of finding a new location in the very near future, in order to hit the ground running by the time we'll need to move.

As you know, being a 100% non-profit organization, run solely by volunteers; in order to meet our mission and provide services to our community and its animals, we rely on the generosity of individuals and businesses for their support. Without the assistance of community-minded and animal-loving individuals just like you, we wouldn't be able to serve the countless number of homeless animals each year.

For those who have always supported and followed us through the years, you know that we've always worked within our means, never getting in over our heads with the number of animals which we could not care for—properly or ethically. We've found homes for hundreds of dogs and cats through the years, and it is not our intention to stop now!  But without a place to operate, what can we do?

It is our goal to find a new space in, or around, the area of Levittown NY, and make this as much of a stress-free and smooth transition as possible for our animals. It is our hope that our supporters will take part in helping us find a place we can finally call home. A place where we'll be easily seen by the public on an afternoon drive; one where our cats can experience sunshine and air through windows as they sunbathe; a place where our dogs will have a fenced-in outdoor play area; a place where we can welcome visitors and proudly introduce them to our wonderful dogs and cats patiently waiting for a home; a place which will allow us to continue our work, carry-out our mission, and help us help the countless animals who need us!

If you know of a space currently available in the area, please let us know! Monetary donations are greatly appreciated; even $1, will help us to re-build our 'Home Fund'! It's always been your generosity that has made a difference in allowing us to continue our work.
