Help Us Prevent Suicide This Winter

Each day, hundreds of people who are struggling with loneliness, depression, or suicidal feelings turn to Samaritans for confidential, non-judgmental, compassionate support.

Your gift can help save a life, rebuild a life after a loss, and educate our community about suicide prevention. Please help us help others.

If you are struggling, call or text our statewide Crisis Helpline 877-870-Hope (4673) for help.

Campaign Details

Last year, Samaritans:

  • Engaged in 109,639 conversations via phone, text and chat with people in need
  • Offered SafePlace support groups in 7 locations attended 900 times by those who have lost a loved one to suicide
  • Shared suicide prevention resources and training to 8,026 people including 3,073 young people about suicide prevention all over Greater Boston and MetroWest

What do those things have in common?

Individuals like YOU made them happen.

YOUR support allows us to offer a warm, listening ear to people who are in despair and struggling. YOU help them through to the next day. YOU help the survivor navigate the complex mourning process of the loss of a loved one. Because of YOU, a high school student can identify signs of suicide in a friend and suggest that they call or text our Crisis Helpline.

Please help us help even MORE people this year.

We are excited to announce that as of October 1, for the first time, someone can call OR text our statewide Crisis Helpline at 877-870-HOPE (4673) for help. That means that a middle school student riding the bus can text us and no one will overhear. To keep this program, along with our other life saving services, we need YOUR help.

Samaritans relies on the generosity of our community to offer our life saving programs in Greater Boston, MetroWest and across Massachusetts.

Visit us at www.SamaritansHope.org for more information about Samaritans. And if you are ever feeling lonely or desperate, please know that we are here for you 24/7. Call or text 877-870-HOPE (4673) for help.

Feel free to either upload a picture in memory of a loved one or one of yourself in support of Samaritans.
