DAPHNEYLAND UPDATE !!!!!
BIG SURPRISE (PUPPIES) AND
A LIFE SAVING VOLUNTEER

Last Saturday we took in a pretty little girl named Polly who was severely malnourished and in really bad shape.  Two different vets had examined her and said her bloated belly was due to malnutrition.  On Tuesday night, Polly surprised us by having a litter of puppies. It was a very long night at Daphneyland and touch and go the whole time, as Polly was so weak that the puppies were also suffering from her poor condition.  We lost 5 of the 11 puppies. Momma Polly's poor condition was simply not enough to sustain a litter of 11 puppies.  Polly and her six surviving puppies rested on Wednesday after a long night.  Throughout the day,  the six puppies had been nursing and Polly thankfully has sufficient milk for them.

THEN IT HAPPENED!  One of the puppies "coded" and a Thanksgiving Day miracle  just took place when one of our volunteers revived the puppy that had CODED!
Sadly, the next day that little miracle puppy had a massive seizure and died.

At this point, the five surviving puppies and Momma Polly are doing well.  The next few weeks are critical as the puppies are very fragile and Polly is still very weak.

We are setting our Giving Tuesday goal at $15,000 … not just a random number but a significant one … $1000 for each of our 15 years of saving over 5000 hounds and finding them forever homes hounds each of whom through the years have
  • healed broken hearts,
  • provided companionship and entertainment to thousands of families, and
  • given comfort and unconditional love to hundreds of thousands of souls.

Please take a minute to share the love and give back to Daphneyland so we can continue doing what we do best …. rescue hounds and fulfill dreams.  Let's surpass our modest goal and show the world how precious basset hounds are!
