Have A Heart For Animals

You are the difference between life and death.  When you fill in a box on our grid, you are providing, food, shelter, medical care...love... to a dog or cat who has no where else to turn. You are helping to save the mother cat and her kittens who are at risk from predators or freezing because they don't have a home.  You are giving a second chance to a dog hit by a car who is suffering alone and afraid.  Please fill in a heart and donate today.

Campaign Details

You love animals.  Show them some extra love in February by giving to Have a Heart for Animals!  Your donation in February will help APL care for cats and dogs all year.

Every cat, dog, kitten and puppy who comes to our shelter needs your help.  Sometimes they just need warm, safe places to sleep and nutritious food to calm growling tummies. Sometimes they need much more. . . .

Cody, a sweet little terrier mix, came to APL miserable with a severe allergy that caused him to chew at his coat, which allowed a severe skin infection to set in. He's looking great now, thanks to donors like you.

Mika defied all the odds. She arrived with a swollen belly and what our vets found was shocking! She had been shot (the wound had healed over), and the bullet had pierced her colon, leaking deadly bacteria into her body. Surgery repaired her colon, and she was adopted the day after she was cleared for adoption.

Andithe puppy, came to APL barely clinging to life.  She was suffering from severe wounds from what appeared to be an animal attack, with deep tears in her throat and a badly broken leg. APL veterinarians spent hours repairing her wounds and setting her leg.

APL specializes in sick and injured cats and dogs.  We are the only shelter in Central Illinois that makes it our priority to care for the most vulnerable--the dog hit by a car . . . the cat with injuries from attack . . .  the motherless kittens that would die without special care.

Arnold had been surrendered to an animal control facility that could not care for his medical needs.  APL saved his life, and then made his life better by removing the tumor that had hung from his belly for who knows how long.

Fortunately for Blizzard, Sangamon Country Animal Control picked him up when they found him painfully making his way down the street with a broken leg.  He was transferred to APL and given all the care he needed to heal.

Show your love for animals this February.  Give them your heart!

Just select a heart on the grid with the donation you wish to make.  Every dollar you give will be used to care for an animal who needs medical care, food, and a place to stay until adoption.

Your donation will help save 1,000 kittens in 2016.  Spay and neuter pit bulls who are too often euthanized at animal controls.  Provide life-saving veterinary care.

When you fill in a heart on our grid you are helping to provide shelter for the 2000 dogs and cats whose only hope is APL. It is more than a square on a grid; it is the gift of love, hope, and life!
